Meet Mikaila a 13 year old social entrepreneur & bee ambassador.

“Don’t be discouraged by life’s little stings, get back up and spread your wings!”

Meet Mikaila a 13 year old social entrepreneur, bee ambassador, educator, student and CEO of Me & The Bees Lemonade – a delicious lemonade sweetened with honey. Mikalia’s lemonade business began at age 4 when she was stung by two bees in one week. Though she didn’t enjoy the bee stings, she became fascinated with bees and learned about what they do for our environment and that the bee population is under threat.

From this an idea was born – “what if I make something that helps honeybees and uses my Great Granny Helen’s recipe?”.

Mikaila started making lemonade from her Great Granny Helen’s recipe and discovered a new love for bees. She has been selling lemonade at Whole Foods since 2014, investing a portion of the profits from her company in helping save the bees, and her little idea continues to grow!

Mikaila travels across the world to encourage kids to dream big. Her goals are to have a measurable impact on the number of kid entrepreneurs, save more bees and have a national lemonade enterprise! She says “You’re never too young to start a business so don’t let age stop you from following your dreams”. Bee fearless! 🐝
